My most recent venture has seen me take over editing for the Manufacturing Insiders Podcast. Since then I have edited 25+ videos, both long form podcast episodes, and short form ‘thought leadership’ videos. On top of that I will have prepared over 80 shorts from this content that will have gone up between the end of January and May 2025. At the time of writing this, I am still editing content and creating shorts for social media for Manufacturing Insiders.

Starting the Channel

This venture started during my internship at weCreate Web Design and Marketing. At the time I was just doing content uploading for client websites. However, when the owner, Nate Wheeler, asked if I had video editing capabilities, I hesitantly said yes, as the only experience I had at that time was an introduction assignment to adobe After Effects, and the 15s TV spot I created for the Vita+ Project in my Integrated Marketing Class. However, due my my established ability to learn new things quickly, Nate allowed me to head the task.

I first researched similar YouTube channels and manufacturing companies, in order to create the following YouTube Suite. This includes a logo for the podcast, the channel banner, thumbnail designs, static intro banners for the start of the videos, some graphics to use during the videos, an outro graphic, and social media graphics.

Learning Video Editing

Understandably, videos started out pretty simple. Maybe something would be animated into the video, and transitions were very simple. However, during down time like uploading the videos and rendering them, I would be watching tutorials on YouTube. I learned how to make animated graphics from scratch and even had the opportunity to try them out in some videos. Additionally, my sound design and timing gradually started improving. This, culminated in my first main project, the animated intro sequence.

Despite recent changes to the logo, this remains the intro sequence that is used for these episodes. This gave me incredible confidence to create my own graphic edits, and use my skills to make these videos more engaging.

Alongside the longform podcast episodes, they had me editing shorter, 10-20 minute, “thought leadership” episodes that involved Nate Wheeler talking about a specific topic in regards to online marketing. I edited 9 of those style episodes. At the start, I treated them like the podcast episodes and only added the intro and outro sequences. But after I created this animated intro sequence, I started adding edits into these videos as well. Below are some edits that amplified the topics Nate was talking about.

Social Media Management

My Internship for weCreate ended in Dec 2024. Then, in late January 2025, I was contacted by weCreate again to revamp their social media. I was immediately put in charge of 4 social media accounts: Youtube Shorts | Instagram | Nathan Wheeler LinkedIn | weCreate Web Design and Marketing LinkedIn. During the course of this venture, I started by creating a content library. Using the previously mentioned podcast episodes and Opus Clips I created shortform videos with animated captions. This process created enough content that it will last until late June or early July posting 5 times a week. It has given us the time to rethink and strategize our social media plan while still putting out content. Then, I created a content schedule from scratch that optimally spreads out posts so that every week a variety of shorts from different podcasts gets posted. This schedule also allows for other kinds of posts to be inserted into the post schedule without any disruptions. This could be shorts from though leadership videos or just spontaneous posts.

Some such posts, include a new venture that we are developing at weCreate. These include a new form of Instagram reel that combines my editing, with Nate’s videos, and the engaging format of using available sounds on Instagram. These are not posted yet, but are in development as of 3/29/2025
